Denmark's Clipper Group continues to reorganise its owned fleet with the disposal of three handysize bulkers.

The company told TradeWinds it had sold the 30,600-dwt sisterships Clipper Target (built 2005), Clipper Tenacious and Clipper Trust (both built 2007).

It had no further comment, but brokers said Vietnamese interests had taken the vessels, all built at Cochin Shipyard in India.

VesselsValue lists the owner as Viet Thuan Transport, assessing the Clipper Target as worth $5.81m. The Clipper Tenacious is worth an estimated $6.49m, while the value of the Clipper Trust comes in around $6.01m.

The Vietnamese company has seven other bulkers.

In September, Clipper bought three, more modern ships of a similar size from compatriot Lauritzen Bulkers.

The 32,000-dwt Orchard Bulker, Sentosa Bulker and Emilie Bulker (all built 2010) changed hands for an undisclosed price.

At that time, Clipper Bulk operated around 85 handysize and supramax vessels, including tonnage operated by the two Clipper Bulk-managed pools: the Clipper Handy Pool and the Clipper Ultra Pool.

Clipper said it had made the purchase "in close collaboration with a financial partner."

The company has been scaling down the number of owned bulkers in its fleet.

Before the Lauritzen deal, Clipper had not bought a bulker in three years and did not own any on a 100% basis.

It did still have a handful of vessels under joint-venture structures.
