Diana Shipping has signed an agreement to sell one of its panamax bulkers to an unnamed buyer.

The New York-listed shipowner said it has divested the 74,400-dwt Coronis (built 2006) for $7.1m before commissions.

The China-built vessel is employed on a period charter to Koch Shipping of Singapore, which is scheduled to terminate between 5 November and 4 January.

The charter is fixed at a gross rate of $8,000 per day, less 5% commissions.

The Coronis' reported sale price is a shade below the $7.85m that Diana received when it sold the Chinese-constructed 73,600-dwt Arethusa (built 2007) to Greek owner Castor Maritime in June.

Athens-based Diana sold six panamaxes last year, all of which were at least 13 years old.

The Coronis is expected to be delivered to the buyer by January 20.

It is due to undergo its special survey on 24 January, according to shipping databases.

Once the vessel is delivered, Diana's fleet of bulkers will consist of four newcastlemaxes; 13 capesizes, five post-panamaxes, five kamsarmaxes and 12 panamaxes.
