All 14 seafarers have been safely taken from a listing general cargoship that suffered engine failure off Greece.

Video footage showed the 5,800-dwt New Leo (built 1997) rolling alarmingly off Lesvos on Wednesday as coast guard rescuers took the Ukrainian men off.

Keep Talking Greece reported adverse weather conditions as the ship lost control in gale force winds.

The vessel was loaded with steel. When the cargo shifted 30 degrees, the captain sought emergency help.

A helicopter headed to the scene, plus three navy and coast guard ships.

Two seafarers were taken to hospital with minor injuries

The vessel is operated by Prestige of Ukraine.
