A potential distress flare signal detected following the sinking of the Bourbon Rhode anchor-handler has so far led to no more survivors being found.

French owner Bourbon said two seafarers on the 310-bp anchor-handler Alp Striker (built 2016) reported possible signals overnight on Sunday in the eastern Atlantic.

The vessel immediately set a course for the area and rescue authorities diverted three other merchant ships to the search area.

Drones were also involved, but no more survivors have been found.

Three crew were rescued after the 2006-built ship was swamped by hurricane Lorenzo on 26 September, but 11 others died.
