The Norwegian Hull Club (NHC) has appointed Anders Furnes as senior vice president of marine to replace the outgoing Jenny Olsson.

Furnes will be in charge of strengthening NHC’s business in eastern Norway and the Nordic region.

The NHC has three senior vice presidents, including Anne Systad and Andy Hannay.

Furnes has been with the NHC since 2013 and has been a member of its board since 2020.

The NHC’s chief underwriting officer Atle Fjeldstad described Furness as “a highly analytical and hard-working professional”.

Jenny Olsson has moved on to follow a career in banking. The NHC also recently lost one of its senior underwriters, Anna Erlandsen, who has joined Skuld Hull as vice president of underwriting.

The NHC is a leading A-rated marine mutual focused on the hull and machinery and other insurance lines including war, loss of hire, seafarer health, offshore energy and renewables.

In the period to the end of the third quarter of 2022, it had earned $256.6m in gross premiums compared to $210.7m in the same period last year.
