Expanding Norwegian asset manager NRP has snapped up another bulker with its Greek partner W Marine.

The company said it has acquired and taken delivery of the 76,500-dwt panamax Genco Raptor (built 2007) from Genco Shipping & Trading.

"The transaction is completed together with Greek shipowner W Marine, which will be both the commercial and technical manager of the vessel," NRP said.

It did not give a price, but VesselsValue assesses the bulker as worth $10.15m.

TradeWinds reported the vesssel sold to an unnamed Greek owner in November for $10.2m.

Last year, NRP said it had bought into the 93,000-dwt bulker Talia (built 2011) with W Marine.

And earlier in December, it teamed up with another Greek owner, Empros Lines, to add a 2011-built, 61,000-dwt ultramax to its fleet.

Empros will be the commercial manager and V.Ships Greece the technical manager.

In 2018, NRP signalled it was seeking to double its invested capital within five to seven years while paying annual dividends of 5% to 8%.

Investments in bulkers, feeder containerships and product tankers, but not offshore, were on the cards at that point.

The company’s shipping funds had an interest in 24 vessels worth a combined $300m at the end of the first half of 2018.

In April that year it concluded a deal to buy two more handysize bulkers from Nordic Hamburg.
