Oslo-listed Seaway 7 is likely to add at least $500m to its contract backlog in a second big offshore wind farm ship deal this month.

The Kristian Siem and Arne Blystad-backed shipowner said it has been chosen as exclusive vessel provider for ScottishPower Renewables’ East Anglia THREE project, 70km off the coast of eastern England.

Seaway 7 is finalising a preferred bidder supply chain agreement to transport and install 95 monopile foundations.

It said the contract will be worth between $500m and $750m.

The 1,400 MW East Anglia THREE is one of the three developments that form the 3,000 MW East Anglia Hub.

Offshore work is scheduled for 2024, subject to a final investment decision by ScottishPower Renewables.

Seaway 7 chief executive Stuart Fitzgerald said: “Seaway 7 is looking forward to bringing over 10 years of offshore wind experience to one of the world’s largest offshore wind complexes, representing a significant contribution to the UK’s renewable target.”

Earlier in June, the company said it had clinched a “very large” deal worth between $500m and $750m as a preferred supplier for the 500 MW Seagreen 1A off eastern Scotland, next to the existing Seagreen wind farm it is working on.

Final negotiations are being held, and work may include the full engineering, fabrication, transport and installation of 36 foundations, Seaway 7 said.

The project is expected to begin in 2023, with offshore work starting in late 2024.

The site is being developed by SSE Renewables and TotalEnergies.
