The 10th anniversary celebrations for Borealis Maritime had the feel of Little Hamburg about it.
A long list of its founder Christoph Toepfer’s friends, family and business acquaintances made the trek from Germany to be at the event at the Royal Thames Yacht Club in London on 23 January.
It included senior executives from the Schulte Group, Atlantic Lloyd, Leonhardt & Blumberg, Hanseatic Unity Chartering, Blue Star Marine, Transport Capital, Berenberg, Five Oceans and Toepfer Transport, to name but a few.
Toepfer established Borealis in 2010 with just seven vessels under commercial management from the former Allocean fleet.
Today is manages or a fleet of around 75 containerships, tankers, bulkers and offshore supply vessels.
Its latest addition comprises two platform supply vessels (PSV) under construction at Remontowa Shipyard for delivery in the first half of 2021.
