Greek shipowner Monte Nero has purchased another aframax tanker from US-listed International Seaways.
The company is now linked to the 112,000-dwt Seaways Portland (built 2002). European brokers said Monte Nero has paid $14.2m for the the Hyundai Heavy Industries-built tanker.
Last month an undisclosed Indian shipowner reportedly paid $12.9m for the vessel, but no deal materialised then.
This month the Greek owner reportedly bought the sistership Seaways Fran (built 2001) from the same owner for $13.6m. Neither the buyer or the seller could be reached for comments.
Monte Nero was established last year. In January the company bought the 109,000-dwt tanker Maersk Prosper (built 2001), renaming it Alboran 1. The outfit bought the ship from Maersk Tankers for $10.5m.
