THE Alliance group of boxship lines is to run "more than 249 ships" next year as part of its revamped network operations.
In 2018, it was operating 250 vessels through members ONE, Hapag-Lloyd and Yang Ming.
The new schedule involves 29 services to cover 76 ports in Asia, Europe, North and Central America, the Middle East, Red Sea and Indian subcontinent.
Yang Ming said the group will offer "expanded capacity, improved service coverage, comprehensive port connections and rapid transit times."
A newly designed pendulum service will replace the Far East Europe 1 service (FE1), Pacific Southwest 1 (PS1) and Pacific Southwest 2 (PS2).
"Moving forward, a necessary capacity upgrade to the existing Asia-Europe network and overall optimised port-pair connections will be implemented to accommodate customers’ needs of greater reliability and stability in service quality," it added.
THE Alliance formed in 2016 and ran 240 ships in 2017.
