Zim Line is starting a new collaboration with members of THE Alliance in their bid to enhance their Europe-North America service.

The Israeli container line will help THE Alliance streamline its Mediterranean-North America East Coast product and some Spanish ports will be served through the new cooperation.

The ports of Barcelona, Tarragona, Valencia and Algeciras will be added to the joint service, which will be launched in April 2017, when THE Alliance will officially start its operations.

The Alliance along with Zim have named the new service as AL 7 and its port rotation will be as follows: Barcelona – Tarragona – Valencia – Algeciras – Halifax – New York – Norfolk – Savannah – Valencia – Tarragona – Barcelona.

This service will be added to THE Alliance's network, which will see the deployment of as many as 240 ships.

Hapag-Lloyd, K Line, MOL, NYK and Yang Ming have joined forces to form THE Alliance as the liner shipping landscape consists of new partnerships and a consolidation wave.
