Ukrainian-Greek operator Aquavita International has chartered a panamax and a kamsarmax bulk carrier owned by Diana Shipping.

The Greek shipowner's ice-classed, 77,529-dwt panamax Atalandi (built 2014) was fixed to the operator for 17 to 19 months at a gross rate of $24,500 per day, minus 4.75% commission.

The charter is expected to commence on 3 October following the conclusion of the Atalandi's current contract with Uniper Global Commodities, during which it has been earning a gross rate of $9,300 per day.

Aquavita has also booked Diana's 81,297-dwt kamsarmax Leto (built 2010) for 16 to 18 months at a gross rate of $25,500 per day, minus a 4.75% commission.

Diana expects the contract to start on 2 October.

The company said it expects the two contracts to generate $24.27m of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charters.

Last week, Diana Shipping fixed its 75,403-dwt panamax Maera (built 2013) to operator ASL Bulk of Hong Kong for 12 to 14 months at $26,000 per day.

Other kamsarmax deals

Two other kamsarmaxes were reported fixed on short-term period deals last week.

Last Thursday, Cobelfret of Belgium reportedly booked Navios Maritime Partners' 81,472-dwt Navios Centaurus (built 2012) for four to six months at $34,000 per day, delivering promptly at Port Dickson in Malaysia.

Hyundai Glovis has reportedly relet the 82,214-dwt Pedhoulas Merchant (built 2006) to Trafigura for $34,250 per day, starting on 27 September and running until 5 February next year.

The vessel is owned by Safe Bulkers.
