Diana Shipping has agreed to sell another of its older panamax bulk carriers.

The New York-listed shipowner has signed a memorandum of agreement to offload the 73,600-dwt Thetis (built 2004) to an unnamed buyer.

The sale price is $6.4m before commissions, the shipowner said in a release.

Thetis will be delivered to the buyer by 31 July, Diana said.

Diana has sold six bulkers built in the early 2000s since November last year.

In mid-February, the owner announced plans to sell the 75,100-dwt Danae and the 75,200-dwt Dione (both built 2001) for $7.2m each.

It also signed an agreement in April to sell the 74,400-dwt Erato (built 2004) for $7m.

Two other panamaxes were sold in November 2018.

Once Thetis is delivered to its buyer, Diana's owned fleet will stand at 44 bulk carriers.
