The crew of a small tanker has been rescued off Malaysia after their vessel capsized and sank on Wednesday.
The Johor-Bahru division of the Malaysia Maritime Rescue Sub Centre (MRSC) said the 500-dwt Wan Da (built 1989) was lost near Tanjung Penyusop.
The Manifold Times cited MRSC as saying it was notified of the incident by a shipping and forwarding company that asked it to carry out salvaging works on the vessel.
A rescue ship was sent to the scene, where it found the capsized ship 2.7 nautical miles offshore.
The patrol team spotted an oil spill around it.
All crew on board had been rescued and brought to Batam, but it was not clear when or how.
MRSC said no distress signals had been received in the area.
The vessel is operated by Penta Petra Niaga of Jakarta.
