The mood of each gathering tends to be determined by the amount of 'folding' in the pocket.
During the week we normally attend three or four receptions a day, but it depends on the number of boat trips or golf outings. There are quite a few people that we only see biannually and it is always good fun to get together, particularly with our Greek friends.
Hot topics of the week - e-commerce is bound to be on the agenda. The marvellous returns for owners in the tanker market and all of those guys claiming that they saw it coming and those claiming to be responsible for it - nothing to do with OPEC of course!
The mess of the Erika (becoming a distant memory?) and the explosion this week on the 'Dena' should continue to focus the industry on old ships' problems. Independent shipowners will say that senior executives need to have Greenpeace on their doorstep before they stop gambling by using older sub-standard ships."
The least favourite part of Posidonia has to be walking around the swimming pool with a suit on.
Obviously the best part of the whole of Posidonia is the Monday night party of the week! [Clarkson bash]. We intend to make a major splash at this year's Posidonia because we have a number of new products we are bringing to the market.
The fact of the matter is that it should be a nice relaxing event, although I'm sure that there will be some serious posturing."
