Diana Shipping has refixed one if its kamsarmaxes to Cargill International amid an improved market.
The Simeon Palios-led bulker owner entered into a time charter contract with Cargill International for the 82,200-dwt Medusa (built 2010).
The rate is $14,000 per day for a period of 13 to 15 months begun Monday. Diana Shipping expects to make about $5.46m in revenue off the deal.
The ship in July finished a one-year charter at $10,000 per day to Cargill, according to Vessels Value.
Average charter rates for drybulk shipping are at $13,489 per day, up from $12,248 about three months ago, Clarksons data shows.
Diana Shipping's fleet consists of 50 dry bulk vessels totaling about 5.8 million dwt with an average age of nine years.
