Siu Fai Ng, director of Jinhui Shipping and Transportation, has added to his holding in the Hong Kong-based bulker owner for the third time this year.
Ng purchased 17,472 of the company's Oslo-listed shares on Tuesday at an average price of NOK 7.8778 per share or NOK 137,641 ($16,266) in total.
As a result of the transaction, Ng and his wife have direct interests in 4,863,186 of Jinhui's shares, equivalent to 4.45% of the company.
Ng has raised his direct stakeholding in the company by 1.7% over three separate transactions since 1 January.
Jinhui's share price is up by 5.71% over the year to date and was trading at NOK 7.96 per share at 09:46 in Oslo this morning.
The stock hit a 12-month high of NOK 14.60 in October 2018, after which the share price tracked down and has traded between NOK 9.57 and NOK 7.27 since 2019 began.
Ng also holds indirect stakes in the shipowner through his majority shareholding in Jinhui Holdings, of which he is also director, and in Fairline Consultants.
Both companies are majority shareholders in Jinhui Shipping.
Ng and Jinhui's chief executive Ng Kam Wah Thomas each received total compensation of $3.42m last year in salaries, bonuses and other payments, according to the company's annual report for 2018.
