The Paris MOU port state control organisation has barred a general cargoship for 12 months.
The 5,400-dwt Acorus (built 1990) had already been banned from Paris MOU ports for three months in July.
When it was reinspected in Piraeus this month, it was detained again for two days with six deficiencies, prompting a stiffer exclusion term.
The faults included an inoperative bridge navigation watch alarm system and an improperly filled-in energy efficiency certificate.
It has also been detained in Bulgaria this year and in Israel and Romania last year.
The ship flies the flag of Moldova, which is on the Paris MOU black list.
It is managed by Donbasstransitservice of Ukraine.
