It proved a night of milestones for Wallem as it celebrated 60 years since it first set up shop in Singapore.

Shipowners, cargo interests, charterers and bankers joined in the celebrations at LeVeL33, which claims to be the world’s highest craft brewery.

Located in the Marina Bay Financial Centre, it offers spectacular views over Singapore's skyline.

“We have clients who we have served for over 50 years. Tolani Shipping has been our ship agency client for 54 years,” Nitin Mathur, managing director of Wallem Group's Singapore division, told assembled guests.

“We also have staff at Wallem Singapore who have worked with us for about 50 years each. Teo Ah Bah, Henry Wee, ST Neo and local general manager Frankie Tan have a combined experience of 199 years at the company.”

The Hong Kong shipmanager established a Singapore operation in 1958 to initially provide ship agency, freight and ship broking services.

Today, its portfolio includes ship agency and logistics, technical and commercial management, asset protection and advisory.
