Braemar Shipping Services said appointed company insider Grant Smith as the new head of its technical services division.
The London-listed shipbrokerage and marine services group said he will also join its executive committee.
Smith's new job will see him take full responsibility of five business units within the technical services division, including the adjusting division that he led until the new appointment.
Braemar said he has a 20-year track record in exploration, construction and operational projects.
Smith will be succeeded in the adjusting business by Geoff Jones, who joined Braemar two years ago after 33 years in marine and energy insurance.
"Both senior leaders have outstanding industry credentials and will provide excellent support in developing Braemar as the most valued provider of technical services to the shipping, energy, offshore and Insurance industries that the company serves," said Braemar chief executive James Kidwell.
