Azuma Shipping of Japan has missed its own forecast and made less in the first half of the year.

The cement carrier company said net profit for the period was JPY 63m ($0.6m), down from JPY 238m a year earlier. It was expecting to post a profit of more than JPY 100m.

Revenue was also lower at JPY 18.18bn from JPY 19.47bn over the same period.

Azuma is projecting lower profit of JPY 610m for the full financial year, despite expecting revenue to rise to JPY 40.15bn.
