UK-headquartered lender Standard Chartered has said it has promoted Abhishek Pandey to head of shipping finance.
The Indian national was previously managing director for ASEAN, South Asia and Africa and the Middle East, focusing on shipping and offshore asset financing.
Former global shipping chief Nigel Anton, based in Hong Kong, is taking on the role of managing director for structured finance.
He will focus on the shipping operating lease portfolio, the bank told TradeWinds.
Pandey joined Standard Chartered in 2007 and is based in Singapore.
Before this he was part of Chilean owner CSAV's corporate team, working on strategy and project development, having joined from Helios & Matheson, where he was general manager.
He started his career as a ship's officer and spent six years at sea, becoming a first officer.
