B-Gas chairman Atle Bergshaven has appointed the experienced Andrew McPhail as chief executive.
McPhail starts immediately at the Danish company, which operates 13 modern and highly advanced semi-ref and pressurised vessels
Bergshaven said: "Andrew has extensive industry experience, most recently as vice president and head of commercial and business development at Evergas.
"He is a welcome addition to our competent and experienced commercial team in Copenhagen, Denmark, and will lead our efforts to further strengthen our position as one of the leading providers of coastal LPG transportation in Europe."
McPhail added: "I may be starting the new venture from the home office due to the Covid-19 situation, but I am really looking forward to the cooperation with the strong B-Gas team in the years to come."
Danish history
He spent five years at Evergas. Before that he was responsible for Norden's charter, sale and purchase and newbuilding activity on the tanker side of the business.
This followed a stint as managing director of Maersk Broker in the US.
B-Gas was formed in 2011 after Norway's Bergshav Management, Lorentzens Skibs and a group of other Norwegian shipping investors fronted by Pareto World Wide Shipping bought Eitzen Gas and its fleet.
Last year, B-Gas appointed Andreas Hannevik as managing director following the departure of Kim Kristensen.
Hannevik was chief financial officer of Bergshav Group, which owns 51% of B-Gas, and he continued in this role.
