Shipbroker Howe Robinson Partners has snatched three LNG brokers from rival Braemar ACM, boosting its specialist team to eight.

TradeWinds understands that Howe Robinson has hired Jordan Neil from Braemar ACM's London team along with James Huw Smith and Sean Tomes, who have been working for the shop in Singapore.

All three are well known in LNG circles. Neil joined Braemar ACM from NYK Line while Smith previously worked with ICAP/Island Shipbrokers.

Tomes was hired by broker Simpson Spence Young and moved to Singapore before jumping ship to Braemar ACM.

The three will join Howe Robinson's London-based senior LNG broker Debbie Turner, Bruce Moore and Andreas Giannikios, Jonathan Cook in the US and Rajiv Kumar Sharma, who works out of India.

The Braemar ACM trio are believed to have been approached individually for their new positions. Their exits slim the shop's LNG team, which is led by Andrew Selby Bennett to five brokers.

This is the second round of LNG additions that Howe Robinson has made to its LNG team.

The broker jumped into LNG in 2019, employing Turner who had been working at SSY.

She quickly brought in Cook, Moore and Giannikios.

Howe Robinson "declined to comment at this stage" when asked about the appointments of Neil, Smith and Tomes.

As Howe Robinson grows its LNG crew, it has emerged that the broker has also recently set up an LPG desk.

This is being led by Jonathan Clifford and supported by two other employees.
