Small-scale LNG carrier venture Avenir LNG has a new temporary boss after chief executive Milorad Doljanin resigned.
The Norwegian over-the-counter listed company said chief commercial officer Peter Mackey will assume the additional responsibilities of CEO on an interim basis.
Mackey joined Avenir LNG in January from LDM Energy, bringing over 19 years of experience from the oil and gas sector, including at GE's gas to power unit.
Doljanin has quit to pursue other opportunities, but will continue to provide "transition support" to the company on an ongoing basis.
The former boss said: "I am immensely proud to have led the team at Avenir LNG to have achieved so much during the last 12 months amid a difficult social and economic environment."
More new ships coming
"As I turn my attention to the development of other aspects of the energy market, I thank the board for their support during my tenure and wish the team at Avenir LNG every success in building a sustainable small-scale LNG supply business," Doljanin added.
Mackey said that despite the challenging global environment in 2020 the company has made enormous strides in delivering its vision.
Avenir LNG has recently taken delivery of its first vessel, the 7,500-cbm Avenir Advantage.
"Looking forward, 2021 will be a transformational year for Avenir as we bring our land-based LNG terminal into service in Sardinia and welcome five further small-scale LNG carriers to our fleet," Mackey added.
Avenir LNG is a joint venture between Stolt-Nielsen, Golar LNG and Hoegh LNG.
Niels Stolt-Nielsen, chairman of Avenir LNG and CEO of Stolt-Nielsen, thanked the outgoing boss for his work and said he looked forward to seeing the company continuing to deliver on its plans.
