Skangas completed its first shore-to-ship LNG bunkering operation in Finland’s Gulf of Bothnia.
Skangas, the LNG unit of gas grid operator Gasum, said it performed the bunkering on the Terntank-owned 14,846-dwt Ternsund (built 2016) from its LNG terminal in Pori.
In early September, Skangas performed its first ship-to-ship transfer of LNG fuel to the same vessel.
“Now we do yet another first when making the first bunkering directly from the terminal,” said Tor Morten Osmundsen, CEO at Skangas.
Satu Mattila, chartering manager at the Ternsund’s operator North European Oil Trade, said: “We will run Ternsund both along the Finnish and the Norwegian coast as well as in the Gothenburg area. It’s advantageous for us that our LNG supplier can offer bunkering at several locations where we trade.”
