Mads Peter Zacho is taking the reins at Navigator Holdings.

The Dane joins the New York-listed LPG carrier owner from Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping, where he was head of industry transport since November 2020.

“I am thrilled to join Navigator and look forward to working closely with Navigator’s talented and dedicated team of professionals as we leverage and grow our market-leading business,” Zacho said in a statement.

“With strong client relationships and a large, modern fleet, Navigator has [a] unique potential to shape the future of the gas infrastructure industry and lead the way to a truly sustainable tomorrow.”

At the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Center, Zacho pushed for zero-carbon goals for the industry and advocated for emissions disclosures and regulatory support.

Prior to his role at the Copenhagen-based independent research outfit, Zacho served as chief executive at J Lauritzen from 2016 until 2020 and chief financial officer at Torm from 2010 until 2013.

He takes over amid a flurry of changes at the company following its merger with Chilean shipowner Ultragas in the summer of 2021, creating a fleet of 56 midsize LPG carriers.

Henry “Harry” Deans then stepped down in October, having taken the top spot a little more than two years prior.

The company has also brought on former Jefferies analyst Randy Giveans in an investor relations and business development role, subsequently moving its North American office from New York to Houston.

Zacho will take over effective on 1 September.
