Gener8 Maritime is selling its oldest VLCC, tanker market sources say.
New York-listed Gener8 is believed to have offloaded the 305,800-dwt Gener8 Poseidon (built 2002).
A price of $22.5m is being placed on the DSME built tanker, which has been the subject of persistent sales talk throughout 2017.
Brokers describe the price as strong and suggest an Indian buyer has taken the tanker.
Gener8 has sold a number of tankers for scrap and further trading this year as part of a continued fleet renewal effort.
The Gener8 Poseidon is one of 22 VLCCs remaining in its 33 strong fleet of tankers.
