Philip Graham has been appointed as head of marine for the London and Nordic region, and global product lead for marine liability, at Allianz Global Corporate & Speciality (AGCS).

Graham left the Chaucer Group after 22 years in September last year, nine months after he was appointed global head of marine.

He is known for his work in advancing the use of data in underwriting.

Graham chaired the Facts & Figures Committee for three year at the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI), where was involved in developing industry casualty, claims and underwriting data.

AGCS is also keen on identifying and reporting on industry safety trends through data. It regularly produces publications such as the Marine Insurance Claims Trends and Maritime Trends to Watch.

Graham’s career in marine underwriting began with Ciga in 1989.

“With more than 30 years of marine underwriting experience Philip is well known and respected in the industry,” AGCS said.

Graham will take up his post at AGCS from April this year.
