Former BW Group insurance manager James Brosnan has returned to broking, this time for Cambiaso Risso in London.

Brosnan made his name in Asia, winning big protection and indemnity and hull discounts in Singapore for the huge fleets of BW Group, and before that at MISC Berhad in Kuala Lumpur.

However, he left BW Group last summer and has returned to London.

Innovative ways

It is understood that Brosnan will be looking to use his experience in working for owners to find innovative ways to save Cambiaso Risso’s clients money in a hardening marine insurance market.

Brosnan started out as a deck cadet on Mobil tankers before becoming a trainee average adjuster. He has worked for Stolt-Nielsen and Peter Dohle Schiffahrts, and he was an insurance broker with Willis in London.

Genoa-based Cambiaso Risso has ambitions to grow. In February, it signed a strategic partnership with French insurance brokerage Siaci Saint Honore.
