Tokio Marine HCC International has restructured its London markets team to try to grow its marine and energy business and secure efficiency gains.

In the shake-up, the London market marine, energy and renewables team has been brought under one operating structure.

Former Zurich head of energy casualty Ben Kinder has been appointed chief underwriting officer for the new marine, energy and renewables unit.

Kinder has more than 25 years’ experience in global marine and energy. At Tokio Marine HCC International he has been tasked with creating a more integrated offering across the marine, energy and renewable sectors.

“While we have enjoyed considerable success to date, our ambition is to keep growing, while still providing the same level of expertise and service to clients and brokers alike,” said Simon Button, Tokio Marine HCC International’s chief underwriting officer for London.

“The addition of Ben’s formidable skills and experience to the team will allow us to do that.”

Tokio Marine HCC International is part of the Tokio Marine group of companies based in Houston, Texas.
