International Seaways has moved to offload one of its older products tankers.

The New York-listed owner has sold the 35,000-dwt Overseas Petromar (built 2001), brokers say.

A price has yet to emerge for the tanker, which VesselsValue places at $7.32m today.

International Seaways has been moving to renew its fleet and the sale of an unnamed products tanker was mentioned on its second-quarter conference call.

Some reference sources now list the Overseas Petromar in the hands of Global Maritim Industri.

International Seaways has a fleet of 44 ships, according to Clarksons. However, only 12 were built in 2010 or later.

Lois Zabrocky, chief executive of the shipowner, has said it will focus renewal efforts on individual deals in the quarters ahead.

"We feel it's still a very good time with asset values depressed, so that gives us time to carefully look at which sectors we want to move on," she said.

"We think it's critically important to continue to do ones and twos."
