Jinhui Shipping and Transportation has signed memoranda of agreement for the purchase of two supramax bulk carriers from Greece's Chartworld Shipping.
The Kollakis-led shipowner has agreed to sell the 50,220-dwt Aifanourios (built 2002) and the 50,354-dwt Aigeorgis (built 2001) to Jinhui for $6.25m and $5.75m respectively, the Hong Kong-based shipowner said in an exchange filing on Tuesday.
This is Jinhui's first vessel acquisition since September 2013, according to VesselsValue.com data.
Jinhui's fleet currently consists of 18 bulkers, of which two are post-panamaxes and 16 are geared supramaxes.
The China-built Aifanourios and Aigeorgis will be delivered to the buyer on 2 May and 7 June respectively.
