Female executives from Greek shipping companies gathered on the rooftop of the Onassis Cultural Center in Athens at an event promoting the role of women in business life.
Maria Madia, managing director of Axis Bulk Carriers, Virginia Papadakis of Kassian Maritime and Elena Evangelatou, head of special credits at Aegean Baltic Bank, were among dozens of participants at the diversity night.
Law firm Reed Smith has been organising several such gatherings across the world as part of its Women’s Initiative Network. The project aims to help female Reed Smith lawyers and their clients build networks to “position them appropriately for advancement and success”.
About half of Reed Smith’s senior management positions are held by women, and it says 23% of its partners are female.
