Norway’s Awilco LNG has made a formal application to list on the Oslo Axess.

The stock is to trade under the ticker symbol ALNG.

In May the company signed on to Norway’s over-the-counter list of traded companies after raising some $100 million in an equity private placement earlier in the month to fund its LNG newbuildings.

Awilco launched itself into the LNG shipping sector earlier this year snapping up three 1980s-built, 125,000-cbm LNG carriers which have been renamed the WilGas, WilEnergy and WilPower.

The WilPower is fixed until the fourth quarter at a rate of around $45,000 per day. The company has been seeking business for the other two vessels.

Part of Norway’s diversified Awilhelmsen group, Awilco LNG has also contracted two 155,900-cbm LNG carrier newbuildings at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering at $200m apiece. The vessels are due for delivery in August and November 2013.

The company is also sitting on two additional berth slots at the yard for deliveries in 2014 and has the option to convert these into floating storage and regasification units.
