Newly listed Awilco LNG has fixed one of its three 1980s-built LNG carriers.

The company announced Wednesday that it has chartered the 125,877-cbm Wilgas (built 1984) to Brazilian giant Petrobras for one year.

The company did not give a rate for the business. Brokers suggested it is likely to be in the $59,000-$61,000 per day range.

The vessel, which was reactivated and upgraded earlier this year, was previously chartered to trader Gunvor on a short-term basis.

Awilco is trying to secure charter business for its 1980s-built trio ahead of taking a decision on two LNG newbuilding options at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, on which it was recently granted an extension.
