Energy major BP has fixed a modern LNG carrier from Japan’s K Line at a healthy rate.

Brokers say the 145,000-cbm Neva River (built 2008) has been chartered in by BP for a five-year period. They report the rate is in the $85,000 per day range.

The deal on the vessel, which was previously on charter to Russia's Gazprom Global LNG, is understood to have been concluded some time ago.
