UK-based Rockhopper Exploration is talking about LNG exports if an existing gas discovery called Johnston in block 14/5 off the Falkland Islands proves viable.

Rockhopper currently assumes Johnston holds between 5 trillion and 10 trillion cubic feet of gas and has narrowed down development options to floating or onshore LNG. Either way, a supermajor with funding and LNG expertise would be needed for such a high-cost scheme, it said.
