New market entrant Awilco LNG has fixed the 1984-built, 125,877-cbm WilGas (ex Dewa Maru) for a period of 30 to 90 days to Gunvor.

The trader will first utilise the vessel to ship a re-export cargo out of the Fluxys LNG terminal in Zeebrugge, it is understood.

The recently reactivated ship was in Sines, Portugal, this week where it was thought to be undergoing cool-down operations on its systems.

Awilco chief executive Jon Skule Storheill said the company is working several short and longer-term options for another of the three ships it acquired earlier this year, the 125,542-cbm WilEnergy (built 1983), which was redelivered in June. The third ship, the 125,929-cbm WilPower (built 1993), is fixed until the fourth quarter at a rate of around $45,000 per day.

Part of Norway’s diversified Awilhelmsen group, Awilco LNG has also contracted two 155,900-cbm LNG carrier newbuildings at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering for 2013 delivery dates.

The company is sitting on two additional slots at the yard for 2014 handovers and has the option to convert these into floating storage and regasification units.

Last week, Awilco LNG made a formal application to list its shares on the Oslo Axess market.
