Anadarko Petroleum and its partners in the LaBarquenJammer LNG project in Mozambique are evaluating three potential sites for the onshore plant.
A source said the government has given the partners an option to secure land. A decision on the location, likely to be in north Mozambique’s Cabo Delgado province, is expected shortly.
Anadarko is initially eyeing a two-train, 10 million tonnes per annum facility. A final investment decision is due in 2013 with start-up in 2018.
