Electromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) has struck an agreement with an unnamed client to conduct more survey work in the Norwegian Barents Sea this quarter.

Its 103-metre vessel Atlantic Guardian (built 2001) will work on a multi-client 3D controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) survey in the region.

The contract has a value of $1.25m, which has been fully pre-funded, the company said in a release on Thursday.

When contacted by TradeWinds, EMGS' chief financial officer Hege Veiseth confirmed that the contract is for a different client than the group that previously booked the vessel for a survey in the Barents Sea.

Atlantic Guardian has just completed a month-long multi-client survey in the region that commenced in early April.

The $3.4m contract was signed with Spirit Energy Norway on behalf of the PL1031 production license group, which operate a block on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

AIS data shows the vessel has been moored just outside Trondheim in Norway since 8 May.
