Bjorn Petter Lindhom has been named as the permanent chief executive of Electromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS).
Lindhom stepped in as the offshore survey company's interim head on 1 December, after former boss Christiaan Vermeijden resigned for personal reasons.
"The board of directors is very pleased with the strong positive developments in EMGS," Eystein Eriksrud, the firm's chairman, said in a release.
Eriksrud said a number of important awards awarded recently had "further strengthened the company's leading position within the global [electromagnetic] market".
Last month, EMGS won a letter of award for a $73m proprietary acquisition contract and today revealed the client is Mexican state energy company Pemex.
Also in April, EMGS won a $24m acquisition contract in south-east Asia.
Lindhom was previously president of the North and South America region for the Oslo-listed company.
