Electromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) has sealed a final contract for a multi-client survey in the Norwegian Barents Sea, under the letter of intent (LOI) signed in March.
The scope of the LOI has been extended since it was first signed last month, which has increased the contract's value to $3.4m from the previous $2.5m.
The deal was signed by Spirit Energy Norway on behalf of the PL1031 production license group, which operate a block in the Barents Sea on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
EMGS' 103-metre survey vessel Atlantic Guardian (built 2001) has begun mobilisation to the area, ahead of the contract's commencement.
The survey is expected to begin in early April and will be completed by the end of June.
Earlier in March, EMGS signed off an $8m deal with Equinor Energy, which will license Barents Sea, Norwegian Sea and North Sea data from EMGS’s existing multi-client library.
