Norway's Eidesvik Offshore has secured three more years of work for a platform supply vessel (PSV) with domestic major Equinor.
The 6,200-dwt Viking Avant (built 2004) will stay on in direct continuation when its current charter expires in December.
Eidesvik Offshore CEO Jan Fredrik Meling said: "We are very pleased with the new contract award from Equinor, which also enables us to install batteries and hybrid solutions for Viking Avant.
"This will be the sixth Eidesvik vessel with batteries and hybrid solutions, and is a testament to Eidesvik's commitment to develop our business and fleet to meet the market requirements of today and the future."
