Farstad Shipping has signed four long-term contracts that will keep its vessels busy for the next six to 24 months.
Petrobras has extended the contract for the 3,084-dwt Far Swift (built 2003) until October 2017.
The vessel will continue to provide air diving and ROV services in cooperation with Fugro in Brazil.
In another Brazilian deal for Farstad, Shell Brasil Petroleo has hired the 4,403-dwt Far Star (built 1999) for two years.
Starting by the end of the year, the Far Star will support the company’s production activities off Brazil while the contract also carries options for two additional years.
Farstad has also fixed two ships to Saipem for the development of an offshore project in Egyptian waters.
The 4,683-dwt Far Service (built 1995) and the 4,680-dwt Far Supporter (built 1996) have been awarded six-month contracts with extension options for another 30 days each.
Farstad said the commercial terms of the latest contracts will be kept private between the two parties.
The company won more negotiating time earlier this month and now has until 20 December to complete its ongoing discussions with investors and lenders.
