A seafarer infected with the coronavirus has been airlifted from a floating production storage and offloading vessel off the UK.
The crewman was evacuated from Bluewater's Aoka Mizu (built 1998) west of Shetland in Scotland on Friday, Hurricane Energy said.
He later tested positive for Covid-19 after arriving on the mainland on a coastguard helicopter.
The vessel has been working on Hurricane Energy's Lancaster field.
Hurricane said it was working with operator Bluewater to stay within UK health guidelines and to determine the next steps for the rest of the crew.
"Production operations at Lancaster have not been affected," it added.
Three days earlier, Hurricane had said: "The impact of Covid-19 is unprecedented and we expect the oil industry to be increasingly affected.
"Since then, operators on the UK continental shelf have faced increasing challenges from travel restrictions on the offshore workforce and a significantly depressed oil price."
The Lancaster early production system has cash operating costs of $17 per barrel at current production levels and oil prices. Operating cash flow will be materially lower than previously forecast for an indeterminate period, it added.
