Norway's Golden Energy Offshore Services (GEOS) has secured charter extensions for two platform supply vessels (PSVs).

Wintershall is keeping the 5,300-dwt Energy Swan (built 2005) in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea until 30 November, with further options attached.

The original four-year contract dates from 2013, when five years of options were included.

The firm period had previously been stretched until 31 August this year.

"The charter rate reflects the market conditions," the company said.

Sistership Energy Scout had entered into a deal with Shell's Snepco in January that was firm until mid-April.

This was later extended with Shell's SPCD until 15 July and has been stretched again for six months to 20 January, 2020.

GEOS added: "Terms reflect short-term market in region which is reasonably tight on availability of this type of high-spec PSV tonnage."

Spot rates for North Sea PSVs were as high as £13,000 ($16,300) per day on Monday as utilisation reached 82%.
