Rem Offshore has sold a modern supply platform supply vessel (PSV) into the fishing sector.

The offshore vessel owner said the laid-up 3,158-dwt Rem Star (built 2009) will be delivered to its new owner “shortly”.

It did not identify the buyer, which is described as an “international customer” with interests in the fishing industry.

Rem used the vessel’s second lien mortgage to secure a bond issued in the summer. It is not the first offshore ship to exit the industry in the downturn.

The owner reported a net loss of NOK 284.8m ($33.8m) in the third quarter, against a NOK 19m loss a year earlier.
