Norwegian shipowner Kjell Inge Rokke is selling two anchor-handling tug supply vessels taken over during compatriot DOF Group's financial restructuring last year.

The ships are owned by Rokke's DDW Offshore, which is the former DOF Deepwater joint venture.

Rokke assumed control of the company and its fleet of five ships in a debt deal in 2020.

Norwegian broker Seabrokers said DDW has entered into bareboat charter agreements for the 16,315-bhp Skandi Pacific and Skandi Saigon (both built 2011) with OceanPact, a Brazilian subsea and logistics company.

The company had previously signalled it was looking to sell the whole fleet.

The ships will go on bareboat charter for 26 months, Seabrokers said.

Try then buy

At the end of this term, OceanPact has agreed to buy the duo, which are worth a combined $6.5m, according to VesselsValue.

The AHTS units, which are laid up in Norway, are scheduled to go on hire with Petrobras in the second quarter of 2021.

A term sheet was agreed last year with DOF Deepwater's banks that restructured debt to secure continued operations up to the second half of 2023.

The plan was for the five ships to be sold when the NOK 1.04bn ($118m) of borrowings expires.

Proceeds will be split equally between the lenders and DOF Deepwater.

VesselsValue assessed the quintet as worth $35m at the time of the transfer.

DOF was set to continue as vessel manager for the fleet.

Ocean Yield owner Rokke is also a shareholder in restructured Norwegian offshore shipowner Solstad Offshore.
