SAL Heavy Lift has secured long-term employment for one of its vessels through an agreement with Van Oord for the Walney Offshore Wind Project.
The K Line-owned heavylift company will deploy the 12,500-dwt Svenja (built 2010) to conduct 40 voyages transporting 87 monopiles.
Svenia will be working between Rostock, Belfast, Aalborg and Teeside.
SAL’s fresh contract comes hot on the heels of its successful summer project at the Veta Mate Offshore Wind Farm.
Holger Krenz, head of project management at SAL, said: “The winning relationship with our client Offshore Wind ensured high efficiency during the project preparation phase and the later operations.
“We aim for the same within the Walney project.”
